The weather finally in our favour we were able to hit the streets in Haddington with the portable printmaking cart and begin the process of recording facets of the town in various shades of ink - thanks to my two volunteers Rosemary and Dawn and young budding printmaker Cecille who pulled our penultimate print of the day. https://youtu.be/rIcvJpSudhk 17/11/2018
Second day out and about - with a slightly different take on the printing technique - we prepared stencils of 3 key images associated with Haddington - the goat, the townhouse and Nungate bridge - these were placed over the areas to be inked up creating a a textured silhouette - the wind proved to be quite challenging and whilst sheltered near a wall preparing to print we met a curious member of the public who enthusiastically joined in and inked up and printed a nice goat - thank you Rebecca .

Fiona MaherAfter years of working in the arts & heritage field I've been inspired to take my practice out onto the streets and explore elements of my surroundings that combines my interests in printmaking, sculpture and heritage and engage the public in the process. Archives |
